Ellis FRANKLIN

PhD Student
Bioinformatics in Ecotoxicology

I’m a PhD student at the Université de Lorraine, focusing on the bioinformatic and statistical side of ecotoxicology.

My research focuses on the analysis of transcriptomic data across dose and time gradients, both separately and jointly — developing approaches for the selection of deregulated transcripts and biological interpretation of modelling results, with the goal of building tools that are usable by anyone, regardless of bioinformatic background.

I conduct my research between two labs:

I care about reproducible research — both in practice and through workshops + seminars. I’m quite fond of data visualisation, not only the building of beautiful plots but also the message they convey. I also illustrate my work, on paper and digitally.

Outside the lab, I’m into hiking, prospecting for rocks and minerals, art and animation.

Brewing ✨ magic ✨ with R and Quarto.
